You must have heard or read about Vedic Maths and often wondered what is it and whether
your children should learn it. Here is your quick guide to all about Vedic Maths.
Vedic Maths is an ancient methodology for fast and efficient calculation of numbers. It
history dates back to Vedas, the religious texts and earliest body of Indian scripture.
However, this methodology was lost in the time until it was revived by Indian
mathematician Jagadguru Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji between 1911 and 1918. The modern
Vedic Maths is based on 16 sutras (formulae) and 13 sub-sutras (sub-formulae) published in
his book ‘Vedic Mathematics’ in 1965. These concepts are useful in the following areas of
mathematics:
 Geometry
 Measurement
 Algebra
 Calculus
 Arithmetic
 Data commercial math

The benefits of Vedic Maths for your children are listed below:

Easy to Understand
Vedic Maths makes it easy for your children to understand the math subject. It has simple
tricks and techniques which they can apply anytime to solve math problems.
Faster Calculation
Vedic Maths makes elementary calculation 10-15 times faster. So, if your child is slow in
calculations, Vedic Maths can be useful to address this issue. It also reduces rough work and
multiple reworks and improves accuracy.
Solve Complex and Big Sums
Children often get overwhelmed when they have to solve complex or big sums. The panic
may make them do wrong calculations. However, Vedic Maths can remove their fear and
help them solve any kind of problem with ease.
Rank Higher in Competitive Exams
Be it Math Olympiad or competitive exams such as IIT JEE or CAT, students need to know
maths at the back of their hand. Vedic Math knowledge can come in handy to crack all the
exams successfully and get higher ranks.
Reduce Finger Counting

Several children use finger counting as a method even in higher grades. Finger counting is a
slow method and put the child behind in calculations. If they are appearing for math exams
in school, they may also not be able to complete the paper. Vedic Maths serves as a useful
tool to help your children reduce or eliminate dependency on finger counting.
Enhances Visualization
Vedic Maths requires children to make patterns in their mind and do multi-dimensional
thinking. This not only keeps their mind alert, but also increase their visualization ability. It
improves their mental math.
Develops Left Brain
Vedic Math is all about logic and reasoning. It trains children to make their left brain work
harder to solve even the most difficult sums through simpler and faster methods.

Here are some sample reviews from parents, to help you to share your own experiences:

Best classes for mathematics in Erandwane/Kothrud area. Limited kids per batch and give personal attention. We had a very good experience. My daughter is happy with teaching by ***** teacher.

Very engaging and fun filled sessions for the kids .My 8 year old throughly enjoyed all the sessions. Kids get a platform to express their views on various topics. Suggestion is to make this workshop extended from 1 month to 2 months or more.

My child has made excellent growth. The teacher gives attention to every child adequately and my child is very eager to attend the classes. And the teacher also has excellent skills in art.

We have seen ***** school growing from a pretty new school to a developed school in last four years. They focus lot on academics, extra curricular  actives and lot more.  They embed a lot of fun activities with academics which makes kids picks the basics as well as advance topics pretty well.  Teachers are attentive and they provide a very elaborated feedback about the child on quarterly basis. In short it's fairly a good option for kids for their overall growth.

Highly mismanaged branch of *****. Poor planning. No proper communication with parents. Teacher retention is very low. Good teachers gets transferred to other centres. In past 3-4 years 3 principal changed. Everything they do is for name sake. Workshops/ seminars are more of a sales  pitches. 10% return of value for your money.
