4 Reviews on “Empress Botanical Garden - Camp”
Empress Garden makes a good one time visit to take children outdoors and may be a family picnic. The garden is quite spacious and has a play area with swings, slides, etc and also a lotus pond that children find very attractive. There are hundreds of species of plants and flowers if you kid is interested in exploring plant world. The annual flower show is the showstopper of this garden every January.
There aren’t many gardens in Pune to take around. But, if at all you want some outdoor fun or picnic in a garden, then Empress Garden tops the list. A huge variety of flowers, plants and trees and best attraction is the playground here. A little water body with a bridge over it also enthralls kids. The annual flower show that takes place in January at Empress Garden is a must-visit and not to be missed!
Must visit the flower show and festival going on currently. It is a bit crowded but definitely worth a visit if you are fond of nature, plants and gardening.
The empress botanical garden has an old-world charm to it. The majority part of the park which is open to the public has an expanse of very old banyan trees. Makes a good backdrop for pictures. It has some good playground equipment for kids like slides and swings. In the evenings and public holidays, the place is flooded with happy children running about. But if you go there at any other time you will find many young couples.
Every year I attend the Annual flower show that is held in January organized by the Agri Horticultural Association of Western India. There is a display of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. I was amazed at the variety there. It is an event not to be missed. Probably the only one of it’s kind in Pune.
In 2020 the event will be held for 10 days , starting January 17. Around 2 lakh flowering plants will be on display as a part of the show. There will be around 30 varieties of such plants. Besides, the event will also have usual competitions of flowers, floral arrangements, drawings, and paintings.
